Extra Curricular

Overview

The term "curriculum" originates from Latin and means "course". In modern education, curriculum specifically refers to the prescribed books, activities, and projects provided to educational institutions by authorities. Our school adheres to the CBSE curriculum while also incorporating additional elements. At our school, we view curriculum and co-curricular activities as essential components that complement each other, much like parallel train tracks.

Instead of using the term "co-curriculum," we prefer to refer to these activities as part of the "parallel curriculum." Our parallel curriculum encompasses a wide range of activities, from skills and hobbies like photography and filmmaking to more competitive endeavours such as quizzing and debating. To encourage participation, we host a weekly Hobby Club where students can choose activities of their interest, ranging from robotics workshops to reading circles. BKBCE is a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC), which is a consortium of prestigious schools from across India. This affiliation provides our students with opportunities to compete in sports at the national level, pitting them against other esteemed teams and hosting IPSC events and schools at our own campus.

Students at BKBCE are encouraged to join hobby clubs of their choice to pursue their interests. In addition to hobby clubs, our school regularly participates in interschool competitions, including debates, writing festivals, and quizzes. We provide extensive training to students to excel in these events, resulting in numerous certificates, trophies, and medals. Participation in these activities not only makes students' time at our school enjoyable, but also teaches them valuable skills such as sociability, responsibility, and independence, improving their overall quality of life and nurturing them into forward-thinking individuals and leaders of society.
