A tribute to the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar Ji By B. K Birla Centre for Education
Lata Mangeshkar, the Nightingale of India and Queen of Melody, passed away on 6thFebruary, 2022, Sunday after a prolonged hospitalisation due to Covid-19 and pneumonia.
B. K Birla Centre For Education pays homage tothe Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji.
The condolence meet of the staff members and the students took place in the school auditorium on 7thFebruary, between 6: 30pm and 8pm.
Principal,Dr. S. K Sanyal mentioned that the singer passed away on February 6 at the age of 92. Lata Ji was the recipient of many awards including the Bharat Ratna and Dadasaheb Phalke Award, ‘the Nightingale’ and ‘the Melody Queen’ recorded over 30,000 songs in 36 Indian languages and a few foreign ones too in her career spanning more than seven decades,.
“Lata ji had a special quality and intricate ability to connect herself with the songs she sang at a deeper level which led to creation of masterpieces that left one and all mesmerised across the globe,” he said.
The students and the staff members stood in their places and observed silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
