This festival is celebrated once a year and is considered to be the most
important festivals in Maharashtra. While it comes to the importance of
Ganesh Chaturthi, it is celebrated as a symbol of wisdom, prosperity and
good fortune. People believe that Lord Ganesha, the symbol of wisdom
bestows his presence on Earth during this festival and remove their obstacles.
With such belief, Ganesh Utsav was celebrated in B. K BIRLA CENTRE FOR
EDUCATION. The celebration started on 31 st of August till 9th
September, 2022.
The sole purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of this festival.
On 10th September, 2021 on the occasion of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with full enthusiasm, B.K Birla Centre for Education staff and students installed the ‘Ganesha idol’ in the auditorium for 10 days. Glittery papers, beautiful flowers, attractive decoration pieces were used. Morning and evening, prayers were offered for 10 days, were filled with grand ‘aartis’, delicious prashad and lots of blessing from ‘Ganpati Bappa’.
On the 9 th day of September, Ganesh Visarjan took place. The ancient story reveals that Lord Ganesha goes back to his native, Mount Kailasha. Ten days were indeed the most enchanting days on the campus.
