The 67th Republic Day celebration was held at the B. K. Birla Centre of Education with a sentiment of great patriotism and fervour. The occasion was graced by the venerated Principal Dr. Saibal Kumar Sanyal. Our creative mentor Mr. Parnab Mukherjee was also present to add lustre to the occasion.
The programme began with the unfurling of the tricolour by Dr. Sanyal, followed by national anthem by the school band. This was trailed by an awe inspiring and heart-warming cultural programme presented by the young and enthused Birlites in honour of their mother land.
The programme began with the recitation of poems in Hindi and English by students followed by patriotic songs by the school choir. Mast. Tarun Singh (IX-D) then presented an eloquent speech in English after which, the children from the junior school presented a patriotic dance. Towards the end, the senior students presented a PPT on Republic Day and the school band performed on patriotic songs. The Hindi short play titled ‘Sarhad’ touched the hearts of all and motivated every member of the audience.
The celebration came to an end after a heart stirring speech by Dr. Sanyal who emphasized on the value of building a stronger nation by being a robust unit in every possible setup. His words inspired the students who pledged towards working jointly, hence laying the foundation of a more unified society and nation in years to come.
