It was a day of grandeur, glory, solemnity and an all-pervading mood of festivity, in the BK Birla Centre for Education, when everyone on campus assembled in the lawn tennis court to witness the Independence Day celebrations. Epitomising a vibrant nation and representing every proud Indian, the chief guest for the day, the officiating principal Dr Saibal Kumar Sanyal, escorted by the vice principal Mr Parveen Zear ascended the dais at the appointed time.
With nationalistic feelings and patriotic sentiments soaring high, the Principal unfurled the Tricolour flagto the resounding drums of the school band playing the national anthem. Rishabh Bajaj of XI Science shared his thoughts with an inspiring speech and the school choir took everyone to a new realm of patriotism with their patriotic song.
Dr Sanyal, in his Independence Day message, exhorted everyone present to leave no stone unturned in their effort to build a mighty nation and to try their best to be worthy citizens of a great nation. He also reminded the audience that the sacrifices of the martyrs of the past should not go in vain.
The short but solemn programme came to a close at 8:30am.
