The ’Father of English Essays’ Francis Bacon in his thought-provoking essay Of Studies, writes “Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man”. In the same essay, he continues to say, “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested”. The bottom line is that he skilfully highlights the importance of reading in a person’s life. But unfortunately, individuals today have no time ‘to read’ but just time to browse. To bring back the time-honoured hobby and inculcate reading habits, BK Birla Centre for Education organised a Book Fair from Jan 29 to 31. Books for sale included classical works of Shakespeare and Dickens to latest works of Chetan Bhagat and Robin Sharma. There were many books on academics as well for the students to choose from.
