To take a walk down the corridors of nostalgia, the Alumni Reunion Meet – 2017 was organized by the B.K. Birla Centre for Education on 16th December 2017. The occasion was graced by more than 100 Alumni across various batches from different parts of the country. The day started with the ex-students walking in to the campus at around 12:00 pm. They were greeted with the warmth and affection of the senior teachers of the school like Ma’am Sarita Mehta and Sir G.B. Yatekar.
The ex-students then spent the entire day inside the school campus revisiting the good times spent at their alma mater. The school hosted a fair with many food stalls open to the current and ex-Birlites, at the same time which was followed by fun games that were organized by the current students for their seniors who had come down all the way to create memories. Towards the evening, the staff and students gathered in the Basketball Court for a Cultural Evening. The School’s Principal – Dr. Saibal Kumar Sanyal welcomed the Ex-Birlites with his affectionate words. Speaking on the occasion, he underlined and praised the achievements of the Alumni of B.K. Birla Centre for Education, in all spheres of life. He felt that it was a matter of great pride for the school that its alumni are holding positions of great responsibility in PSUs, Private Sectors and in many distinct Professions / Vocations. Many of these are also successful entrepreneurs who are providing jobs to others as well. He also thanked everyone for being a part of the Alumni Meet 2017.
The highlight of the evening was the cultural performance by our very own Birlites to honour the ex- students. They sang melodious numbers and danced to the tunes of foot tapping numbers that added glitter and joy to the grand evening which created an ambience of ‘Déjà Vu’. This was followed by a sumptuous dinner in the Skating Rink for the Staff and Students.
The evening ended with an emotional parting, bidding good bye to one another and to the beloved staff. Everyone left with a promise to meet again so as to recreate the magic of a similar delightful evening.
